Animal Collective - Graze

Originally from Baltimore. For me Animal Collective has been the Radiohead (with the exception of Radiohead) of 2000’s. It seems that almost everything they put out is gold and breaks some kind of ground in one way or another. Nobody can quite classify them yet there are million other bands that sound like them or are influenced by them. In a way, it seems they work in reverse. The last two releases have steadily been inching their way to more attainable compositions. With this E.P. I feel they have reached a nice balance. About the song… Has 2 movements. Surreal (as can be expected), massive bass contrasted by folky flutes on a loop. Somehow together it all works. Best played loud.
