Moggi (a.k.a Piero Umiliani) - Officina Stellare

Moggi is an alias that was used by Piero Umiliani just for this album and one other as far as I can tell. Umiliani was a contemporary of Ennio Morricone but with a lot less recognition… perhaps unfairly so. He made jazz infused sound tracks for many Italian exploitation films in the 60’s and 70’s. This track is from a library record called “Tra Scienza e Fantascienza” from 1976 which is far more exploratory than the work he did for films. There is a lot of attention to detail in the textures. Headphones recommended. Oh and I love the title to this track.

Thanks Yorgos
